Kali is Halifax's ex-girlfriend and sister to Shakra, Halifax's former flatmate. She has been many things in her life: runaway, drug addict, artist, mother, journalist, and Machiavellian schemer. Of all these things, she misses being a mother the most.
After having her eye cut out while looking for Halifax in Milton Hoight, Kali broke up with Halifax and attempted to exact revenge upon him. She tried to pair her plan for vengeance with an attempt to locate her firstborn child that she gave up for adoption years earlier. The attempt was ultimately unsuccessful and led to her losing custody of her other daughter, Honey.
After finally giving up her lust for vengeance, Kali took a job as a waitress and attempted to rebuild her life. Rio's attempt to make amends with her spawned a plan for the two to marry in order to regain custody of Honey. The plan failed but Kali found herself developing deeper feelings for Rio. Although he seems to be reciprocating her feelings, she has grave suspicions about the closeness of his friendship with Holly.
